Free Potato Action
Okay. So ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to session three of dagger hearts. Um, if you're happened to be listening to this in the future, uh, first of all, congratulations. Now, um, we are, we are currently playing through dagger heart as they update the, uh, as they update the play test manuscripts. Uh, this is the open beta. So if rules change from session to session, um, that's just the way it is. We were pretty much on 1.5 now, I think. So that will be what we try to play with here. And if we miss any rules, uh, this is only session three, so deal with it. Geez. Hey, you gotta, you gotta set your, uh, set your expectations up front. All right. Yeah. Hmm. We still need to think of a team name so I can address you guys better. But with that, we move back. If this works eventually to the campfire. Oh man, I'd forgotten about the bear. One of you blurts out interrupting the story and sending the whole party into a fit of laughter. How could you forget about the bear? What if I tried to forget about the bear? Well, forgetful. We wish you'd forgotten about the bear then. Indeed. Maz blushes, but the, uh, the teasing stays good natured and friendly. And after a moment, even he joins in the laughter. When the outburst dies down, Sal looks to you all giving you room to say or talk about anything you might want to talk about before he continues. I mean, the bear, I mean, is no worse than, uh, you know, what happened to my porto. But we'll find out, you know, we'll recollect and we'll reminisce about that story, you know, another time. I wonder what ever happened to that man that we let go. Oh, the, um, the bandit from the last battle. Yeah. I wonder what he's up to. I've got to be honest, I'm not optimistic on wherever he ended up. Although I will say, since we did let him go, he seemed to think that he would be safe from, you know, from the clan, you know, essentially that he had been running with, although I can't recollect their name right now. I'm trying to remember their name if we had a name because I think we got one. Maybe that was their come to core moment, you know, and they changed their life from that point on. I like to think so. I, I doubt it. Yes. I mean, I don't know if, if, if Bogha would be able to do this, but do you remember what this person looked like? Would you be able to craft a little illusion of, uh, what, what this individual, you know, or what you recollect from that day? Oh, oh boy. Uh, just kind of try, try weaving something together. Okay. It's kind of mask type thing. Okay. So are you doing like, uh, just casting like a illusion to do that? Yeah. Okay. I mean, let's do it. Let's do a, let's do the first roll of the day as a low stakes roll. Why not? Let's just do a little, uh, performance. Actually, hold on. Let me double check because no, it wouldn't be performance because you are making a spellcast role. So I believe for you, that is what instinct. Is that correct? Um, let me just, illusion is probably, I can't remember. It's been a while since I looked at this stuff. I believe that your, yeah, spellcast is instinct. If you look under your elemental origin there, you're going to be able to do that. So why don't we make a roll your 2d12s and make an instinct roll for me? Oh, it's not. Oh no. I think I lost one of my dice. Did was, was my, was my child over there at some point because, uh, you know, check the couch cushion. And the noses. So that is a 18 with hope. 18 with hope. Amazing. Uh, Boga creates an image that when you see it, you all go, Oh yeah. That was that guy. That was him. That was him. You don't know where he is now. Just gotta shake my hands a little bit. I can't believe still to this day that his own ally stabbed him to prevent him from giving us any information. No, the things that people will do in the name of loyalty to their cause. Foolish. All right. Once it, uh, feels like everybody has kinda discussed what they want to discuss. Al looks around once more, just given, given room for, uh, for anything. And then he, uh, he continues with the story starting conveniently for you all with a recap, which is weird, which is weird because you were just in the story like 30 seconds ago. You just had a brief, brief little conversation at the campfire, but whatever. Um, such as the nature of story conceits. All right. It all began with the hundred year piece. You ate good food. You easily won what we're supposed to be challenging games and you made new friends. It was supposed to be a celebration, an event commemorating the end of violence over the central area of the shattered lands. The area now known as Skyland after the leaders of the East and the West side and their wizards devised and executed a plan to stop the fighting over it and raise it into the sky as a shining city for all. Maybe no peace can last though. Just as the festivities were about to kick off officially a young girl stumbled onto the stage and asked for help before collapsing. Svetlana rushed to help the girl while the rest of you investigated and through talking to Amara, you found out that her and her brother had been playing in the woods to the East of Skyland and down on the mainland rather than on the island itself. When they stumbled on something that they apparently should not have, she couldn't tell you what it was because her brother Tom was grabbed by a robe figure. And when she saw this, she ran as fast as she could. You made your way down Skyland way and found the woods easily, exploring specifically leftward until you found a bear that was put to sleep by magic and almost immediately woken back up by mass. The bear wasn't the only danger lurking in the woods though. As you push deeper in, you discovered a few members of the jagged knife and fought them, then captured and questioned them. Fearing that his ally would reveal secrets to you, one of the jagged knife bandits stabbed and killed the other, but Svetlana revived him. In an attempt to intimidate the bandit who had stabbed his partner, a fatal blow was administered, but the revived bandit, seeing this and grateful just to be alive, informed you that there was still time to stop what was happening. You let him run off. You're alone in the woods with a dead bandit at your feet and a grumpy bear probably somewhere nearby. What would you like to do? Now we'll switch the page here. I think that we're very close to where they said that they took the boy, but I think in the interest of being stealthy, we should try to hide the body of this gentleman that we killed. What do you think? I agree with cleaning up our mess, but before we do, I'd like to take a look at the body to see if there's anything of note that can be found to give us more information about the jagged knife and what's going on. What kind of things are you looking for? I'll take a look down and then she'll start from the bottoms of the feet, both taking a look at the make of the shoes, trying to get an idea of how well equipped this may be. Taking a look for that, having been experienced with people from a wide variety of places and worked a wide variety of jobs, so taking that in and then taking a look, going up to start to rifle through the pockets and around the bell to see if I find any items of note, gold and things that I can certainly take because I'm not going to let those go to waste. Then anything else that could give us a hint? That's a lot of things you're looking for. OK, make yourself a instinct role for that. I got a 12 with hope. 12 with hope. OK, the first thing you notice about the bandit is that he, the gear, I guess that is equipped. The gear that the bandit has is not shoddy, but not amazing. Like this is not a this is not like a professional hired assassin with endless funds to get the best gear. You know, this is someone who maybe is just kind of doing what is necessary. So pretty pretty typical clothes, pretty typical pants, shoes, those sorts of things in his pockets. You do find. Sorry, just a second. You do find a handful of gold and you also find. You also find two daggers there. You know, in inspecting them, they look like they just look like common daggers. So you find two daggers on him, which were the weapons that he was using. And you don't really find much else. There is a there is a symbol on his cloak. Does anybody remember what that symbol looked like? I think we talked about that last session. I think maybe maybe I dreamed it. Yes, it looks like a knife. The symbol came up. What did you say? It looked like a knife. So you see the the symbol of of the knife kind of. Over where his heart would be, I guess, is roughly where it would be. And you don't really find out much else. Like essentially, the takeaway is that this is not. The most important person in this game, that's for sure. So. OK, well, I'll I take the the gold and the findings and I distribute, you know, shares the goal to the rest of the party and offer it up to anybody who would like to take it. And then, you know, if anybody I have weapons and, you know, don't have any need to carry, you know, these common daggers, if anybody else would like the daggers and I kind of, you know, toss them to the ground on offer to everybody in a respectful way, you know, just like, you know, showing them that they can grab it if they would like. And, you know, everyone take note of this symbol because this is what we're looking for. And then, you know, as I'll start to drag the body, I guess, over towards. Because it looks like there's like woods towards like that northern side. So start to drag it up towards that northern side to put it aside. Yeah. And honestly, like the map, you don't have to like specifically like abide to everything. The map is more just to give us a visual to look at. So, you know, just to come. I'm dragging it off to the woods. Right. Yeah. We could we could put them around this fire they were at, right? Just leave them there. Well, you know, set them up, prop them up. As if they were still alive. Yeah. Precisely. I think the idea is not to draw attention. So I don't know. Maybe that would be better. What does everyone else think? It would be better to prop them up to not draw attention. Yeah. I mean, if somebody sees a fire going and they see a person sitting there, they might be less likely to approach them. But if they see somebody laying on the ground, I don't know. I think we should hide the body personally. But I'll tell you what, that the one thing I'm worried about and maybe it's just me is bears. So that body's out there and you know, I feel like the bears are just going to come chomping through. At least we hide it off to the side. You know, maybe they'll be a little bit further away. True. Then if it's roasting by an open fire. True. Yeah, I agree with that. Incredible. I'm not familiar with bears. Do they eat dead people? Oh yeah. Yeah. Bears, I'll say for good old high low. So high low bears are both smart. They're scavengers and they'll eat pretty much anything they can come across. Probably except for you. They might try to eat you, but then they're going to get a bad taste in their mouth. So we don't want to leave this out in the open for them to find as easily, even though they're probably located. We don't want to give it to them on a... Silver platter? Platter. Platter, yes. Won't they find it anyway with their nose? I think we need to get moving guys. This boy was taken and we need to find them. I think what we do with the body, it really doesn't matter. Hide it or leave it. The bear is probably going to find it either way. I just am trying to buy us some time if somebody were to come after us to not know what direction we were heading. I think, Maz, you can go ahead and just hide the body. Excellent. I'll say so. Actually, I go over towards the side and I'll flat my wings to assist in trying to drag it up one of the trees. Okay. Then put it up one of the branches and then leaving it up there. Then I walk back towards Hyla and say, "You're right, but at least they'll have to work for it." I feel like that should probably be a strength roll. I will say that being very strong myself, I will assist Maz as well. All right. If you could roll a strength roll and then... Man, how does advantage work again on this version? We're doing to the... What do you call those? The green and the red die? The duality die. You are not rolling that. You're not rolling that with me. You roll a D6 and add it to his total. I got a 12 and 11. D6, one. A nine with hope. You've got time, so you get him halfway up the tree, you drop him and as he hits the ground, his legs crumple with kind of a horrifying little crunch sound. You have enough time and you try again and eventually you get this body that you have now mangled only slightly up a tree. And Maz, next time just let me carry the body. Teamwork. I got it. No problem. For next time, I will tag in Svetlana for any heavy body movement. And she has a little giggle watching Maz trying to do this. All right. I think we should... I was studying, like watching very intently how they're doing that so they didn't ask for help. Making some notes. I love it. All right. I think we should head to the southeast of the forest. Does anybody disagree? Since that is where they said that they took the boy. Who wants to lead the way? Is anybody comfortable in the woods? Not these woods. Oh, okay. I should mention, by the way, as a little GM note, one thing that I think would be helpful for like supporting each other is if you're getting low on health and things like that, just make sure your make sure your serif knows. So not a big deal at looking at every sheets. I think everybody's fine, but just, you know, she's... Before, sorry, before we head off, as there's a campfire right here, did we want to have a short rest? Does anybody need one? How long is a short rest in this game? About an hour. More than three minutes. Do we feel like we have time for that? I'm all for it. Are you asking me that question? I'm asking the group. Okay. I just want to make sure. Is anyone low on health because I could heal at this point or stress if needed? No. I've only got one stress, so. Okay. I have a little dent. I really don't get much from a short rest. I think I would need much more time to get my spells back to really refresh myself. But if other people need a short rest, that is. I do have one skill that would be really great for a short rest if we thought we could spare the hour. Yeah. Or maybe because he's taking such a good time hiding the body and making sure the bear can smell it by putting stuff over it during our rest. I don't know. Yeah, you can probably. You have time if you would like to take a short rest. I'm not going to punish you for your very first short rest. Where does it tell me what a short rest gets me or is it just kind of generic? Did you look at the digital? Okay. Your skills have a little box that says per short rest and those ones you get back if you've used them. I don't think that many of mine work that way. You can also. The other benefits of a short repair armor. Heal 1d4 HP, 1d4 stress, repair 1d4 armor slots. Oh, okay. Yeah, let's do that. Let's I'm in. Yeah, yeah. Let's do that. He says armor. You said the magic word armor slots. You only get to choose two of those, by the way, but if you want to, if the only thing you need is armor, you can choose repair armor twice. So yeah, you can also by the way, the last thing was prepared. Describe how you are preparing yourself for the path ahead and gain a hope. You choose to prepare with one or more members of your party. You each gain two hope. So just be aware. I was going to say I can also assist if somebody has armor that needs repairing my armor is good so I can help. Somebody else. Why don't we go through the group and everybody talk about what they would like to do for a short rest? Cause it seems like there's consensus to do a short rest. Okay. Um, and also feel free to like, you know, role play during this as well. If you want to talk to each other, those sorts of things. That's, this is also a good time for character moments. Sorry, I'm like getting down like the, the, like the technical, I'm like just trying to make sure, cause I can't really replenish anything cause I don't have anything that's usable. I just use swords. So I would just repair things like armor or stress and whatnot. Yeah. I mean, it to, to metagame a little bit since we're all still learning here. Uh, if I were you mass looking at what you have, I would roll it. I would say you're going to repair your armor, roll a D four. If you get anything other than a one, um, then you repair all of your active armor slots. Cause you have two that you've spent, right? Right. So you'd get both of those back. If you have another downtime action that you can do, then I would prepare and just get a free hope out of it. Um, but if you happen to choose to repair your armor, roll a one, then you could just repair your armor again. And then you could guarantee that you have all your armor back cause you're also sitting pretty well on hope, like pretty good on hope. So yeah, got it. That would be what I would do, but that's also make sure it fits in with the way that your character, uh, And you can only do one action, right? So I can't prepare. You can do two. So you can do two per shortlist. Oh, okay. And the two can be the same action twice if you need it to be. Yeah. Cause I had asked about that when we were first setting it up, if we could do the same one twice and then they put it in the written rules. So it was a, it was a common question. Is this one on D four? This triangle, that is. Okay. So everybody, uh, do what you need to do. I think first of all, I would, um, take Hylos hand with your permission, of course, and, um, imbue it with healing power, um, to heal one HP, uh, one, uh, I think you have one HP slot. Um, so you should be back to, uh, it now. And then the rest of the time I will spend preparing, uh, for the road up ahead. Um, I will take out my hallowed axe and rob it so that it clears all blood from it. And it is, uh, I thought I'm just able to practice with it a little bit. Um, I'm going to, um, uh, clear my stress by taking out the little fish we want at carnival and just looking at it, poking a bag. Good callback. I love it. I love it. Yeah, I love that. And then did you roll to make sure, uh, I mean, I guess you only have one stress, so you're guaranteed to roll what you need. So don't worry about it. Um, but you also have time for one other action. If you would like to prepare to gain a hope or something else. No, I'm good. Okay. Would you like to prepare with me so we can both get to home? Uh, yes. Yes. Let's, uh, like that. Can you help me, um, polish my axe? Okay. I love you a little bit strangely. And, um, just kind of trust them on what you mean by Polish acts. I licked my, my, my, uh, froggy hand and just kind of rub it on the axe. It's perfect. I needed some on there for sure. I'll go back at you with a toothless grin. Amazing. Okay. I will also just, uh, take this opportunity to clear stress by, uh, communing with Pazu, as, as you do. Pazu, you know, leans against my hip and ruffles fur a little bit and it's soothing. It clears the stress. All, all one of it. Um, and then prepare for what comes next by checking supplies, making sure, you know, there's no loose straps or, uh, uh, everything's buckled. Everything's organized and ready to go. Can be accessed quickly in case of an emergency. Add hope. Make sure you clear positive stress as well. Oh, positive stress. Thank you. Cause anytime you do that for yourself, you also do that for your companion. Um, all of mass goes ahead and, uh, sees her sort of unfurling her wings and then looking them over with, uh, care and, um, seeing if anything is, is there caught up in it. Any sort of like damage. Cause you know, the feeling in the wings is not as strong as in other parts of the body. And so sometimes things can pop up there that could get in the way of your flying. And, um, as she does so clearing, you know, one stress, um, cause the top number is what I get, right? Yes. On these beard dice. Okay. Uh, and then goes ahead and after checking over, um, the wings, um, sort of finds a little hole in, um, you know, her armor, um, from the previous fight and begins to slowly, you know, um, so that up with, you know, some of the tools that she has on hand and clears, um, armor or two repairs, two armor, call three armor, whatever, but two, um, as she continues to prepare for the battle and then walks over towards, um, high low and, uh, takes a, uh, a look and says, wow, I say, but Lana did a great job on that arm. Can you, can you feel the damage that was done previously? Does it hurt? Like when you receive damage, does it hurt? Uh, hello. Looks at you like, like what kind of question is that is kind of the look tilted. So what does it feel like when the bear, cause it was the bearer, I think, right? Or was it? No, it was the bandit. No, it was the bandit. It was the bandit. When you were attacked, what does that feel like when your arm was dented? And he reaches out and pokes you on the chest, but, but more, I'll say that's fair. I'll say, I guess it doesn't matter, uh, whether you're, you know, an automote automaton or not. Um, but you know, we all feel something. Uh, then mass walks back over towards, I guess, you know, around the fire, uh, waiting for the group to, uh, you know, head off. Hello. Actually, like, um, does, does, does still need to heal. So he's going to rest for a few minutes and watching everyone else around. He actually starts telling a story about how in stories they skip this part unless someone's forgetting something. Like he mentions that, um, when things go well, right, they, they sharpen their axes and they prep up and everything's fine and they heighten their straps and they get through their equipment and everything's fine, but it's never actually mentioned in the stories. What's mentioned in the stories is when they forget to do the strap and it comes loose in the middle of the battle or, um, they didn't sharpen their blade and it gets stuck somewhere later. Um, as kind of a ironic, you know, foreshadowing, they mentioned that they don't, uh, they don't take these precautions and here we are. We're obviously going to be successful because, you know, we're doing it right. I'll say Mads. Yeah. Mads nods in agreement. Uh, that's what Lana speaks. And was that any of your abilities I love or was that just a story? Uh, that was just a story to try to, to gain a hope, like doing that. That's how he prepares for, for the thing. So he's like trying to assist everyone else in their preparations by, um, telling a story about how these preparations are important. Okay. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't like a rally or something. Uh, and, oh, I haven't done that this, for this session, have I? Oh yeah. I should do that this session. Let's call that is me doing that this session. There we go. It was already marked on my sheet. So I forgot this was a new session and to unmark it. So good reminder for everybody, anything that is based per session, uh, this is new session. So, um, is that hope or what does that give us? So you each get a D six rally die that you can use. Oh yeah. Later. He's on action, reaction, damage, or clear stress equal to the rally die results. So pretty much for anything. Yeah. Well, just about armor repairing apparently, but stress reducing. Yes. Good. Yeah. Up to you guys. If you want to do anything else in your short rest, I'm all good. And I look around the clearing a little bit just to make sure there's no other indication of, um, I don't know other people coming by here. Okay. So like you're looking for people or you're looking for. Yeah. Just to make sure that we're actually alone. Okay. Um, let's do an instinct roll for that. That is a five and a five. So critical success, I think. Um, so 10, uh, well instinct is plus one. So 11. That's still critical. It doesn't matter. Oh, okay. Yeah. Um, with your hope for that, you get a hope and you clear stress, which you just did. So, or you could have just done, I guess. So yeah. Uh, with your critical senses, you look around and in a nearby tree, you notice something moving. Uh, when you go to investigate, you see that it's the body that mass shoved into the tree, uh, swaying gently with the wind. I gave myself a straight. You do, you do sense that there are like near you, there are more footprints than people that you've encountered so far. You don't see anyone in the immediate vicinity, but because you rolled so well, you do, you know, like if two people made this, they were running around or dancing or something. It's too many footprints for two people. So I will, um, relay this to the rest of the team and I will say, you know, it's strange. There are a lot more footprints here than you would expect for just two bandits. I'm a little worried that we might be running into more people along the way. Um, so everyone just be very wary, um, as we travel, because there might be people lurking in the trees or hiding in the corners. It wouldn't be a very good cult if it only had a couple of members. Very true. I think I'll be classed as a cult-ish. Nice. Cult-ish. What is ish? Is he like ish? Just like your skin is, uh, inflamed? It's like cult adjacent. Oh. Yeah. Kind of cult. Nearly. I see. Well, is everybody rested? Uh. I think so. Yes. Where do we go? Hello, Nods. Um, I think we should get going then. Um, I know I asked this before, but I don't know if anybody answered. Um, is anybody super comfortable, um, in the woods navigating? I know. I know. I always trust Pazu. Yes, Pazu is. Always trust Pazu. He's always got a good nose on that fella. Um, shall we follow Pazu then? Self-east? Sure. The, um, trouble is Pazu is not real interested in, you know, pursuing strange people. Uh, Pazu will wander around and look for small game, things like this. Um. Move my map around. So is this a path we could follow the water down to the south and around? Yeah. So from where you guys are, like at the, at the, basically the, the idea I wanted to get across with this map is that you are in, you're in a big section of woods, but there are different paths carved through this area of woods because people travel it for like commerce, uh, kids pretty regularly playing here as you, uh, as you learned. Um, this is basically like none of these are official paths, but, um, it's just a area that people use frequently. So yeah, that is there are paths in between the trees. In general, trees are kind of like all around you, but you can follow, follow that path the way that you are headed along the stream or yeah. Creek river. I don't know. Whatever you want to do. Uh, you can follow that path down and see where that leads. Okay. Yeah. We'll, we'll move, uh, just kind of following the, the water. Cause it's clear of trees nearby. So we can follow the path of the water. Pa, Pazu kind of roams about looking for whatever entertains Pazu. It's never getting too far away, but also not, not super focused on, on the direction we are taking here. So, and mass falls, um, right up behind, uh, you know, Pazu mostly, but also along the river. Okay. Are you attempting to sneak or are you going low? Uh, well, I am naturally fleet footed. I would say I'm trying to sneak as well. Um, knowing that there was more footprints and more people to look out for, I would be also keeping an eye on the trees and trying to make sure that we're not going into an ambush. Okay. I think that, uh, Pazu would, if Pazu sensed people around, he would not be wandering freely. Does Pazu make, uh, some kind of a check on that? Um, great question. Let's say, let's just have Pazu make a general finesse, a finesse roll. And while this role is happening, Maz is only walking sneakily from the queue from everyone else. Cause otherwise Maz would probably just be trumping through this thing, making all the noise. We've got 19 with hope 19 with hope. All right. Um, if anyone notices Pazu, you don't know, but nothing stirs as Pazu kind of wanders about. And Svetlana, did you want to, did you want to make a instinct roll to see if you saw anything? Uh, yes. That is a 14 with fear. Okay. Uh, as you are, as you're walking, uh, you do notice footprints leading south from where you are. Um, there is essentially to the south of you, there is a path between the trees and you can see that this area has been pretty well walked. Like there's a bunch of like pine needles that are old on the ground and they're all kind of crunched up. Um, and as you bend down to, as you bend down to look at it, you hear what sounds like an angry bear somewhere off in the distance. Do you hear that? Yes, I hear it. These giant ears are good for a few things like hearing far off sound. I was hoping that we left the bear behind. Well, I think, uh, Pazu intimidated the bear. So maybe, maybe hopefully the bear will not approach us, you know, as we continue to make our way down here. The bear doesn't sound that close to be clear. The bear is loud, but it's one of those loud, loud sounds you can, you can tell is pretty far away. So, and I tell the direction of the sound, is it back from where we came from? Vaguely, the direction you're going, but can't quite pinpoint it further than that or closer than that. Mazz just kind of does like this thing is like, uh, it's like, here's like that. Cause you know, Mazz's large ears as well and sort of like picks up on, uh, you know, the vague kind of lack of direction with where the, um, the bear sound may be coming from. It's like, sorry guys. So, uh, we'll keep moving south ish. So when you said south, is it south south or was it on this path going south that I saw being trampled? Uh, well you were looking like right, right here, right? You were looking from right here. So this, I don't know if I can draw a line that you guys can see. I assume I can. This was the, the south line that you saw was trampled like through here. I think that we need to start making our way towards an actual path and the direction by the water is, I don't think that's actually a path unless we want to go across the log. Actually it is east. So maybe we do need to cross the river. Yeah, maybe as I got down here, it seemed like that it was a little more densely treed area. So you definitely, you've, you've basically hit a point where your options are across the river, which may be tricky to do quietly and without, uh, falling in or, uh, take a different path because there is essentially just a wall of trees that you could maybe push your way through if you would like to try. Well Svetlana apparently, uh, got the head of herself in cross the log without a relief. I'll fix that. Okay. I wasn't sure if since I moved my character, if, if I would need to go forward with that, I don't know what you guys think. I mean, that's kind of eyes that up and goes like, yeah, I can get across that. The water is not like, it's not running quickly or anything. I mean, the main concern is not that you are going to sink. I mean, maybe you could, we'll see, but, uh, the main concern is not that you're going to sink below the depths or anything, but simply can you maintain a pretty consistent footing, not fall in, not make noise, um, that sort of thing. So that will be the, uh, the question to ask. It's not, it's not a huge danger moment, assuming nothing is lurking, but maybe something. I have to ask too, Hylo. Um, does water affect your mechanics at all? Are you able to get in the water? Um, I'm, I'll be fine. Okay. Just want to make sure you're not going to like shock yourself or something. I don't swim very well, but I enjoy walking on the water bottom. The water web? Bottom. Bottom. Oh. You and undead pirates. I might've borrowed that from there. Is there anyone among us that cannot swim? I don't like to swim, but I don't think I'll have trouble crossing the, the blog. Okay. It's about, uh, what about the, the feline? They like to swim. No. He's not real interested in large bodies of water. However, he's a cat. He'll be fine. I see. Uh, are we going to cross the, the stream then? Let's do it. I'll say a mass steps up to the side of the river, happy to make the first attempt. Okay. Um, I'll, I'll give you guys an option. Would you like to do this as a group action role or would you like to individually roll? Well, I was thinking if mass can fly, could she just stand in the middle of the log and kind of hold our hands as we cross the log? That sounds like group action. Yeah. Sounds like group action. Sounds like mass is leading a group agility action. So, uh, everybody roll your duality dice. Um, can I, uh, spend a hope to use, um, Bay rat acrobat? Sure can. All right. So that's plus three. Okay. So I got, oh, all right. All right. I got a 19 with hope. Okay. So it's a 22 with hope. Okay. Uh, 21 with fear. Okay. So that means I get a hope back now, right? Yes. You get your hope back because you rolled with hope. Yep. Yeah. I got a 16 with fear. Okay. Uh, what was this Houston again? Was this, uh, this is agility, I believe. Hell. Great. 16. Okay. So that means mine was actually like a 24 cause I had a plus two agility up there at the top two. Okay. Yes. You add agility. That makes mine 18. Okay. Mine's a four with fear. Uh, he's going to sink like a rock. He's going under. Um, I'm going down. I'm Yulin timber. So, um, mass, uh, do you have to spend a stress to fly? Is that a thing? What's your, uh, if I do it in combat, I do need to do it. Yeah. So, I mean, yeah, it's not combat. So that's fine. Okay. Sure. Uh, so mass, uh, hops up into the air, flaps the wings, uh, shows how easy it is to get across. And then one by one, you all presume cross on the log. Um, you, you all cross the log with Maz's assistance to pull you across. Um, a few of you catch a little bit of a slippery point on the log and a foot slips into the water. Maybe makes it just a little bit of a splash or quiet for a second. I don't really sense anything. Um, and, uh, last high, low steps onto the log with Maz's assistance or assistance and crashes straight through the log into the water. Um, when he reaches the bottom, it is essentially up to his knees. So it is a very, very low stakes, very low stakes. Um, uh, plummet, uh, but it does make some noise. It does make some noise. Um, again, you don't know if anything has heard you, but nothing comes to confront you and you all make it successfully across. Oh, there's, um, Maz lands on the other side. She kind of just looks over at Bogota and is like, couldn't you just swim? I would have gotten my clothes wet. All right. That's, that's, that's fair. Okay. I get it. Although, you know, you could have done it up in an illusion, but either way I was going to say that's, that's fine. I'm glad I helped you either way. And you don't have to like, you don't have to specifically move all of your characters into that tiny little patch on the map. It's really not worth your effort. Do we see any paths? Um, I'm, I'm looking around right now. I don't see any past. You see some land that you could walk along that ends pretty quickly. So this was pointless. So, uh, Kylo broke the log so we can't come back. Well, fortunately the water was pretty shallow. So I'll tell you what, we could certainly go walk back through. I think we just want to be wary of how much noise we make going across. So though up ahead a little bit, I do see that there are some, um, some rocks that we could cross that look like they are closer together. So I think either way we will be, um, in good shape. And, uh, as I get closer to the rocks, um, do I, uh, I suspect I, I feel like I see something. I hear, Hey, who's that? And a, a guy with a dagger, both in his hand and on his cloak, uh, points the dagger at you. Oh no. Before anyone does anything, as soon as I hear him say, Hey, who's that? I charge across the, I step on this one rock in the middle and I leap off of it. Um, and I charge into from a far range to melee with this first target. Okay. Jesus. Um, I mean, I know these are bad guys. I can see their cloaks from across the river that they have the same cloaks on. Okay. So you're using your verbal charge. Yes. And I will take out my hallowed ax, which is now shining and, uh, and reflecting the sun. Yeah. And reflecting the sun and I will smash it right into the shoulder of this guy across the thing. Um, Okay. So wait, charge is, um, Agility roll. Okay. So you wouldn't. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that's fine. Okay. So I might not actually hit the shoulder. Right. Yeah. That's what you're attempting to do. Okay. Yes. Okay. Go ahead and roll for agility. Um, that is a 12 with hope. Yeah. On a 12 with hope. I, uh, I think you can make it across the water. You can make it across the water. It's pretty shallow here. The rocks thankfully aren't too slippery. So you, you jump across from rock to rock and then you spend a stress, um, to deal one D 12. So, So it does hit. Uh, it doesn't say you have to roll to hit. It just says when you succeed on agility roll, move into melee. Um, well that is great news because I just got a 12. So his arm is chopped off at this point, but it is his left arm. So he might still be able to fight back. So unfortunately the left one was closest. He, uh, cries out in pain and looks at you kind of baffled that this escalated from, I see a few people to an ax being driven down into his shoulder in the period of essentially a single breath for him. And she, uh, she rolled with hope. So it is still your turn. Everybody. I mean, A very sharp, like very like high pitched squeal of surprise. She was not, she was not expecting, um, not expecting to just charge like that. I mean, and as essentially does the same thing and just kind of like starts to like jump forward as though mass was about to make the same move. And then now just realizes that split Lana is a completely different person than she first imagine that is not at all what she had in mind. And honestly, then like it hesitates as she just watched his, the blood start to ooze out of this man and then is astounded by the sheer, you know, a shock on his face. And after she sort of stumbles in front of her, she tries to flap her wings, but then just splashes into the water and starts to slowly work her way across because she's so taken aback by the entire thing and just kind of stands there honestly stunned. What are you doing guys? There's a little boy who needs our help. That sort of rouses mass, you know, out of it and she starts to, you know, refocus and Svetlana screams at her. Does anybody see the boy? Not so far. I did not yet know. Is the enemy still standing? Uh, yeah, sure is. Okay. All right. So mass just continues to walk up and just sort of gets closer, um, into combat and, um, then goes ahead and as she gets closer towards Svetlana's, um, side then, um, takes her short sword and, um, takes a, you know, pulls them both out. Um, you know, really at the same time, willing, uh, both then takes a right side slice at because what does she get her left shoulder? Did we say that? Yeah, the left slice at the right hand side of, um, the same, um, bandit, um, going for an, uh, you know, an attack. Okay. You said with your short sword. Yes. Okay. And I've got a 12 and do I add anything to that or no? Strength roll or anything like that or no? Uh, uh, on your sword, it says plus three agility to it. Yeah. It's got the plus three right on the damage. Okay. Wait, that's to your attack role and then, oh, to the attack, my bad. Yeah. So plus three agility is to your attack role and then you can potentially add damage. So I would get a, I have a 12 then it's 12 plus three. Okay. Was that hope? It's with fear. Um, yeah. So it'd be, um, 15 with fear. Okay. 15 with fear. Got it. And now roll for damage. Uh, man, I roll a D eight. Uh, he, what does it say on your sword? It says one D eight plus two physical for the short sword. Correct. The deep, sorry guys, the D eight is, is this guy right here? Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Okay. All right. Um, I just rolled the damage of one. Um, and I'm going to use not good enough so I can reroll any ones or twos. Okay. And does that require anything? It just says when you roll your damage dice, you may reroll any ones or twos. If you do, you must take the new result even on a one or two. Okay. Hey, I already got a five, so it's five plus two. So seven, seven damage. Okay. Um, the, the bandits, uh, still like, by the way, sorry, little point of contention here. Uh, Jen, do you want me to update your token? Your token is currently showing like a little hooded figure, which I don't think I have saved a thing. I noticed this also. And, and it just like wouldn't give me my, is that right? Yep. That's it. Do you have control of that? Um, yes. Okay. So I'm gonna make sure. Okay. Thanks. Sorry. I didn't want to interrupt for, I was adjusting something and something weird happened on my end and I was like, wait a minute. I think, I think we're having some, uh, some other issues. There's a ghost. Uh, okay. So, uh, the, the, the bandit that you just attacked looks just absolutely stunned that, um, this has just gone from him being stabbed essentially twice in the period of time that took him to, um, took him to realize that someone was there and he will look at the both of you, look at his just gaping wounds and he is going to run for his life. He is going to run. Um, and he's gone. He is gone off to the west of where you are. There's a, there's a path that way. You don't see where he gets off to, but he is no longer there because that got serious incredibly quickly for him. I will shout at his friend and say, if you don't want to suffer the same fate as your friend, you better tell us where that little boy is. Give me just a second. Mazz is just reflecting and thinking how great it is that Svetlana is her friend right now. It's just like looking at the sheer size, like next year, how tall Svetlana again? Like seven feet, eight feet. Something like that. It's like six foot, like something. Yeah. Okay. Mazz is probably like four feet. Like there's are not that big, like, right? So it's like, Mazz is on the big side is like looking up like at this enormous one and a half times the size and like, you know, both intimidated, but then also sort of warmed by the kindness that she's also seen in the past. The other bandit seeing what you did to his friend is not going to take your advice and he is going to rush directly up to Svetlana and attack with his daggers. He's going to attack with his daggers. I need to roll for that. He's going to say, what are you doing here? Because he's, he's, he's as panicked as his friend was, except he's just not hurt. That is a 19 to hit. For me, right? That was used by Lana, correct? I will definitely use some armor slot. No, no, no. That's not 19 damage. That's Oh, oh, okay. Yes. That hits. Yes. Okay. All right. So actually technically it was a 20, but I don't think that matters. No, I just, Okay. So he is going to lunge forward while screaming. He's kind of like in battle cry mode is, is seeing what you've done to his friend and he is going to attack you. That is a terrible role, but don't worry. That one's also bad. You will take that is six damage, which I believe is below your major threshold. So one HP, unless you'd like to reduce it. I mean, I would have to use two armor slots to reduce it. Not sure that's worse than that. I think I will not. So I would just, I was too caught off guard. I really thought I was intimidating. So I didn't have time to put my shield up. I should have given you a chance to be intimidating. Oh, it's fine. I didn't think about that. But yeah, she was expecting him to comply. So she, she takes the damage. Okay. And then going to spend a fear, get two more action. Oh, oh, and just for the record, stepping out from, from this little, I don't know what the right word is called a sack of trees. That's not it. Yeah. Cops of trees. We'll say, I was just thinking that. Oh my God. Stepping out from a, a cops of trees. You see a bandit wearing a similar cloak, but maybe more elaborate. And there is kind of magical runes all over it. And instead of holding a dagger, this enemy is holding a staff. Is that on the map? I see it just barely. Is it the black thing? It's right here. Okay. Yes, I see it. Yes. Sorry. So it has runes and it's holding a magical staff. Yes, correct. And the, they are going to wave their staff while continuing to step out towards you. And from here they are going to cast chaotic flux. And that is going to, that is going to basically cast a curse on both of you that will deal damage. If it's a hit, that's a flurry of writhing magic that unleashes from the staff directly towards you. And that is a 13 against Maz and Svetlana. That hits. How do I know if that hits again? Sorry for my ignorance. Evasion score. My evasion's eight. So that hits both of you. So I need to roll damage die yet again. And while you are, while this, basically while you see these magical gestures, the, this member of the Jagged Knife is also shouting something arcane. You don't recognize the words. That is eight magic damage to the both of you. Is magic damage treated differently in regards to my armor? No. I mean, unless there is something that means you're affected differently by magic or physical. It looks like that is both of your minor damage or major thresholds. So that would be two each if you, it says my minors, my minor is eight. So is that the cutoff? Like seven would be minor or eight is minor. Eight makes it major damage. That's the thrust. It makes it major. I think that's Svetlana. Um, knowing that she was the one that started this and Maz, um, is helping her out. She would immediately move in front of Maz and try to take the curse for both of them. Okay. Um, and so she would, uh, mark a stress and in the way and take the damage instead. Um, so she will reduce the damage by value equal to the strength trait. Okay. Um, so, so you're taking 16 damage reduced by two. Yeah. Uh, yes. Okay. Right. Wait no, it was, it was eight per person. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So 16 minus two. So it was 14. Okay. Um, and she will, can I use my experience of, uh, my life is not my own at all. I don't know what that would do. Um, I don't know. Can you use to reduce damage? Um, I think that's how it works. Right. Rolling, but I don't think you can use it when you're not rolling. Okay. Okay. Um, so then she would use armor slots to reduce it to eight or let's see, it's her armor slots. It's you're going to, you're going to reduce it to six if you use two armor slots, it's either 10 or six. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I was trying to decide if I wanted to use more than that or not. Um, 10 would mean two HP, six would mean one HP, or you could also go for armor slots and reduce it to zero. Yeah. Um, I think I will just take one HP and use two armor slots. Um, yeah. So she's kind of, she at this point, she's taken her shield out and she kind of sees the guy and sees it happening in real time and dives in front of mass and kind of hits the ground. The spellcaster kind of looks puzzled that you would throw yourself and take the damage for someone else. And then, uh, goes back to essentially focusing on their, their words and their movements as if they're preparing something else. As Svetlana hits the ground, you can see there's orange or there's fur on her body all over her body, but it starts to grow orange right here and spreads throughout her body. Um, as she fills the sunlight and praise to her God for help. Okay. I will, uh, well, you know what, we're going to keep going. I have so many tokens. So you hear a sound above you mass and you kind of look up in the air and you don't see anything until this bandit leaps from the trees with its, with its dagger, um, with its dagger out and ready to stab you. Uh, the dagger is going to use from above. They drop in from above and take no mercy as they attempt to plunge the dagger in to your shoulder, almost mirroring what happened to another bandit shoulder, but moments ago, so I will make a roll. Can I mark a stress before you're attacked as a mass tries to kind of jump up in the air with her wings and sort of take a step back to try to avoid it to use wings? Um, to increase your invasion by two. Sure. Uh huh. Okay. Yeah. Uh, let me make sure I marked my stress. Hold on. Where, where's my stress? Right below your HP. Right below my, be fun. If I could find my HP too. Oh, there it is. Boom. All right. I heard that Jen. Okay. So what does that make your evasion now? 10. Okay. That was a 15 that I rolled. Sorry. Sorry about that. Um, so, um, sound very sorry. Really? Uh, the, the, um, Oh boy. The bandit leaps from the tree and using the full weight of its body is essentially crashing down on you shoving the knife into your shoulder. Um, and no, this is going to be interesting. Sorry. I'm going to be rolling for a while. Also, um, I'm sorry. I forgot to roll a d six on my churn. Um, when I'm Mark a stress, I'm supposed to roll a d six because of my natural calm to potentially not take the stress. Yeah. Go ahead. And I got a five. So it doesn't matter. I guess. Okay. Um, geez, this is mass. Um, the bandit leaping from the tree, knives out deals 16 damage. Nice. Nice. Okay. Okay. Damage, physical damage to you between the knife and the, the force of its body crushing down on you. Really? Uh, really been waiting, holding all these back for today, huh? There buddy. It's really letting it all go. Um, 16 is praying to her God. She will ask for the strength to go into mass and we'll use one of her prayer dice to reduce the damage by three. Okay. And you have a rally die from high. That's excellent support. So, so that means it goes down to 13. Yes. And my armors five. So I will, I'll use, um, to mass. Well, it's sort of as the bandit lands on top of her, tries to put up one of her short swords and attempt to block unsuccessfully, you know, makes a maybe slight difference there. Right. As the bandit still clearly makes contact digging into her shoulder, um, marking, um, one armor slot, which means that mass is still taking, um, two HP of, uh, damage from this absolutely massive blow. And then, um, as, uh, that happens and the, I guess bandit now pretty much just lands right on top of mass. Um, she tries to get her other short sword out with her, um, opposite hand. Okay. And is able to pull out one, the short sword just enough to slash the bandit in the side. I rolled two D six for my vengeance and I got one five. Okay. That means doing one hit point back to the bandit as the bandit lands on top of her. That's pretty cool. It's cool. The little thing. Yeah. I like that. It just like, boom, just straight damage back. Yeah. Um, I used three prayer die, um, or my prayer die of three, but I also had one of two. Um, since you used armor slots anyway, did you actually need all three or did you just need two to get down to one armor slot, which took it down by another five. So then it would have been eight damage shows only major damage. So you really only needed two to get it. Right. You can use your two instead of your three prayer. Is that okay? I don't want to like meta game, but it'll be the same effect. It's fine. Okay. I don't know that we should always allow you to, to rethink, but, uh, that's true. But next time I will wait to see what he wants to do before I. Produce it. We are very much still learning. I feel like I'm like, this is the first time that I'm almost getting a grasp on what to do as a, as a GM in combat, because this is only really the second time we've done it. So it's, it's, it's clicking a little bit more, but there's still a lot of things that I got to figure out in terms of getting all this established. So the bandit, uh, after stabbing, that's this one here, uh, after stabbing Maz rolls off in a completely clean roll lands back on its feet. Um, and shouts, Hey, there's more of them here. And, um, then kind of scurries, scurries around to the, the area with, with his friends, uh, burial like positive. We got to get in there. Let's go. So, you know, positive naturally nimbly hops over the rocks and lands on the other bank. Uh, and I think we're definitely going to just let the cat have that. I don't think we're going to do any, yeah, yeah, I'm going to wade across the water here. Uh, maybe trying to get around them in the range about where you put your tokens. This is just, it's a, it's not a great map. Pausey, pausey's with me always has positive. Okay. Uh, so this one, how do I. Look long click to like Mark one or to ping one, I guess. Okay. That one's the more damaged at the moment. Is that. The person who was super damaged booked it. He, uh, he was like, nah, this is like, doesn't matter. This is not worth my life. And he, he, he ran off. So, uh, this one, that one took, took damage from Maz's vengeance. But as far as we know, I don't believe anybody has damaged this one yet. Okay. But yeah, I had it confused with the one that, that it's all good. I'm just going to pull out my reliable broadsword and, uh, charge the one that ambushed Maz. That was rude. And we can't just let that slide. Okay. That'd be that one right there. Right. Correct. Okay. Yeah. Sorry. I'll try to have characters that are more clearly distinguished next time. Yeah. So that's like my duality role. That's a four. Wait, now I add my agility. Um, on your character on your character sheet, you add plus three to your, to your attack role. Okay. That's a 17 with hope. 17 with hope. Take a hope and you absolutely hit the bandit that is in front of you. He, uh, he was feeling pretty confident after the, the move from the tree. Um, but then the, the immediate stab back from Maz kind of shook him and he looks down as you plunge your sword into him for eight, eight, eight looks like, Oh, this one six. He said six, six damage, six damage. So, uh, the sword, uh, definitely, where are you stabbing him? Oh, uh, broad sword. That's probably for I guess is a slash. Is it a poke? Is it a, I think, I think it's a slash. It's a slash. So, uh, he sees the, the slash coming and attempts to dodge out of the way. But just unfortunately after the little show of acrobatics that he did leaping from the tree just doesn't really make it fast enough. And the sword cuts straight down across his chest in a diagonal and, uh, you can see blood dripping from the end of your sword and from his chest. Uh, and then positive positive jumps into the fight. Also attacking the same one. I am focused on. So that's 16 with fear. Okay. That is still a hit. Okay. And then that's two damage. Pazu, you know, leaps forward and sinks his claws in maybe tearing out the existing wound is he's making it worse. The, uh, part here, the bandit is still kind of recoiling from having his chest cut open. And when the sandcat lunges at him, he just, it just doesn't have the reaction time to get out of the way. And positive is claws and teeth tear into the bandit. He's hurt, but he's still up. How much damage did he take? How much damage? Uh, that was one from positive one HP. I guess it was two damage, right? Two damage. Yes. So it should be one on one, one for me, one from positive one from three. I didn't damage. All right. Now it's my turn. And I have a lot of to how could you roll with fear? I have a lot of tokens. I asked a quick meta question then as you start to take it, because we did this wrong before, right? And then we realized it was it was wrong before. Now this is the correct way that if you have like 10 fear tokens, you can just keep going. Correct. If you want it. Correct. It just rain fire and Brinstone upon everybody in the park. Is there no, like, um, what's the word? Like after somebody hits you, you can hit them back type of thing. I mean, if you have like an ability, my understanding is, um, I can pretty much go until I have either exhausted my tokens or pretty much until I've exhausted the, like, I'm not going to go, like, I have enough tokens that all everybody you see could go like five or six times right now, but that's not a very fun game. So, okay. Um, opportunity attack was the word I was looking for. I don't believe there is attack of opportunity that I've seen. If someone wants to like mine, cause mine's automatic. Yeah. I take damage. If I take damage, it's automatic. If I use armor slots, nothing happens. So the, the bandit that is closest to Svetlana will, um, we'll kind of look to the damage that was done to that's this one, by the way, the damage that was done to, um, her compatriot and then we'll, uh, immediately lash out towards Svetlana. Having noticed the, the willingness of Svetlana to, to dive in front of an ally will, um, they're kind of making a connection that like, maybe I should do something about this person and, uh, we'll stab with the daggers at Svetlana by the way, keeping track of all these characters. I printed out paper this time to try to keep track of things. All right. Uh, so stab out with the daggers going for Svetlana. That is a man. I'm rolling pretty well today. That's a, that's all 14 to hit. That hits. There's a 14 to hit. And then I have to roll. Ooh, almost the maximum roll. That is 14 points of physical damage as the, uh, as the bandit, like the bandit has like was originally holding the blade. Like it was, like it was about to stab you with it, but the bandit right at the last second flips the blade over and kind of goes, uh, underhand, I don't know, uh, kind of slash and overhand, overhand, I guess. Yeah. With the, with the dagger slashing down. Um, once again, almost mimicking what just happened to the other bandit with a slash across, uh, across the front of your armor. Oh, it was 14 again, by the way. And the armor is four. So that would take two armor slots. I used two already, right? For some reason it didn't track. I'm pretty sure I used two. I see two. I marked those again. Oh, okay. Yeah. I marked them again because I, I didn't see them on there. Um, the bandit will have hit the strap of one of her mini, uh, bags that she has on and will have ripped it. Um, and therefore like her arm, well, it's her armor, like her chain mail and the strap. So she will take two points of armor damage or yeah, two points of armor damage and one point of HP. Okay. That was good to me. And then, um, kind of emboldened by the, the, the other bandit attacking and also just kind of enraged by everything that was just done to it. The, the bandit that had leaped from the tree on top of mass, uh, is going to slash out with its dagger at a Urial because, uh, this bandit recognizes that the way to deal with, uh, the cat is to deal with its, with its handler and is going to stab at you. Urial with its, uh, with its staggers or with, oh man, I've lost track is, I think this was his, I don't know, whatever. Got too many bandits going on. Uh, the bandit is going to stab out and because probably because of the wounds across it, across his chest is going to swing wide and stumble and, um, recover its recovers footing, but, uh, it's just going to miss you. Just going to miss you. I rolled a six. So just good. Excellent. Trying to do its story, but I just wanted to make sure you were clear that it was, it was just a bad roll. Um, so, um, seeing all of this action, the spellcaster behind them is once again going to cast chaotic flux. Um, what sort of attack path is that like, is that going to hit everybody over here or? Actually, you know what? I don't think I can't cast chaotic flux. Uh, I think we're just going to the, the, the, the spellcaster is just going to make a, a standard magic attack, a standard magic attack with it. Uh, yeah, with their staff. And this is going to be having seen that their, uh, their friend miss is going to be at Urial again. Sorry. I'm still learning how to use all of these adversaries. And in the heat of the moment, the, the spellcaster is going to fling a bolt of pure arcane magic at you, Urial. And you're just going to watch it go by and it's just going to go straight by you. And somehow for a moment, you're going to feel like, I don't know, something has blessed you in this moment for, uh, for the damage that you've avoided. And rather than go through all my characters again, I will hand the playback to the players. We haven't heard from a high low or Boga in a bit. If either of them would like to jump in. Well, I spread is just going to jump into water. I'm just gonna have her eyes poking up. Okay. Easy enough to do without a rule. Yeah. There's a, there's a small splash, you know, kind of turn around and look and you, uh, if you look closely enough, you just see a couple little ribbit eyes peeking out from the top. Yep. That's it. Did Hilah want to do something? So since we're not really that concerned about stealth anymore, I look and just splash across, right? Yes. So he's just gonna, he's just going to splash across and try to get over here somewhere. And, um, Oh wait. Um, I think he's, yeah, he's just going to try to poke between these people at that guy next to him there. Uh, this one right here. Yes. Okay. Oh, nor, uh, I'll pop a second. Hello. We'll cross the river and say, or nor Yeah, pretty much. Um, yeah, he, he gets a five with fear. No, I was seeing if there was something I could do to fix something with that, but no, I'm guessing Hilah is not in a melee range for me, right? Probably. No, you would have the other side. I tried. I mean, I could add my paradise to your role. He is going to help with a five. I wouldn't bother honestly. Yeah. The, despite everything that's going on, the bandit that's in front of, uh, Svetlana looks and kind of hears a large metal robot splish splashing through the river, um, towards her. I really gotta keep track of this better, uh, towards her and, uh, sees, sees the, uh, the stab coming and parries with, um, parries with her dagger and immediately as a response lashes back out with a dagger attack on you. Hello. That's a, that's a 19. Oh my God. I'm rolling pretty well today. Guys, that is 19, which I believe clears your, this is too much. I need you to check those dice, please. Just step by eye. Hold that thought. Yes. Once per short rest, mark a stress to make an adversary reroll an attack against you or an ally within very close rank. Okay. Mark a stress. Okay. That's a 17. Yeah. Get right. The actual, you can, uh, you can ask Mrs. Too much. I was not rolling this well at D and D last night at all. I say it's my same little, little dice. Could you roll the Andrew D and Dean worse here, please. I'll work on it. I'll work on it. So that is, uh, that is going to clear your invasion. I believe. Is there anybody or hello? Is there anything you'd like to do before I roll my attack roll or damage roll? I'm sorry. No, I think, I think that, that nothing from my, my perspective. That is 10 points of physical damage to high, low with the dagger. So my, my threshold is so that's two, either two points or I use armor to get it down. And your armor is only three. Yes. So you can use two to get it down one. Um, you haven't used any armor slots yet, right? I guess you can probably spare two armor slots. I was going to say I still have three, uh, prayer die, but it's my only one left. So we should probably save it. Yeah. I'll just take the two armor slots. Don't forget about your class feature though. Mikaela. I know I haven't been rolling with hope really. So no, no, no, I'm sorry. You're Sarah hope. Yeah. I just have to use three hope and yeah, I was just letting you know that there's no reason you can't get one of your paradise back, but do whatever you want. And I just know that these, that's true. These things are new. So I want to make sure people remember them. Yeah. I guess I'm not using it for anything else. So I might as well. That's a two. Um, if you want it, I can go ahead and use that. Wait, hold on. When it says refresh, I think you would get this. I don't think you have to reroll. I think you would get the number back. I think. So if you, if you used a three, I think you would do, I think I used the two. Oh yeah. Okay. Got it. Okay. Honestly, I think those are more useful than, than my two, uh, armor slots. So I'd save your stuff for me personally. Okay. So you're going to take one HP and two armor slots. Yes, sir. Okay. All right. Um, I, I'm not going to take a full turn here because I just basically did one and you guys did one attack. So I'm going to pass the playback to you. Um, Mazz will, um, then jump in and move as she often likes to right in the midst of pretty much all the enemies that are there wanting to, you know, both help and protect and draw attention away from, um, those that are around and she's making a lot of noise as she does so with her short swords, um, out and bared, um, you know, trying to draw, uh, attention to herself and then, um, goes ahead and as she dashes over there, uses her wings to just kind of raise up slightly in the air, not flying, but just get a little bit of extra air and then brings them, um, downward over hand, just taking a slash at the, uh, mage, uh, right. Um, it's a mage, right? Right here. Yeah. I mean, it's a, it's a spellcaster, a spellcaster mage, but okay. Um, and goes ahead and tries, uh, for a hip. Okay. It's carrying a book. It's clearly a librarian. Um, I have very scary. Um, I got an 11 with fear, but you know what? Once per session, what the heck? Um, actually no, no, I'll keep the 11 cause I don't think I, or do I add something to that? Uh, attack with your short sword. You had three, right? Did you add the three agility? I did not. So it'd be a 14. 14. Okay. Well, you're very lucky. You're very lucky. You had plus three. Okay. Uh, this, the, the short sword, um, flashes down quicker than the spellcaster can relate react and slashes across, uh, across their body. And you do one D eight plus two physical. Okay. And then it also says reliable. So it was a plus two plus one that is for your hit roll. So you already did that. Okay. Yeah. It's attack rolls is plus one with reliable. Oh, right. Okay. Yeah. So I'm rolling in one D eight. Wow. That's terrible. Um, okay. Uh, well I rolled a zero. Wait, on a D eight, what? You must, you must roll the D 10. There's no zero on a D eight. Oh, wait, is the zero the D 10? Yeah. Zero is the 10 on a D 10. Yes. This is what I just got. Yeah. That's a, that's a D 10. Okay. Wait a second. The eight is like, um, yeah. D eight is like, it's like a pyramid or a, oh, okay. Wait, wait, hold on. Sorry guys. So it's all good. There's a lot of dice. Okay. I got, this is an eight. Okay. I will get it right this time. I was gonna be like, wow, zero, huh? That's real tough. They are both diamonds. So it's confusing. Yeah. You know, they look very similar. Um, that time I got an eight. So two back to back dice and you got the top number zero and an eight. And then it's a plus two. So it's a 10. That is a 10. Oh geez. Uh, so I guess as I take that slash, I mean, I'm assuming I just really make a lot of great contact as I just like lay into him, hitting his armor and then waiting to see how really deep the wounds, uh, you know, penetrate at that point. The, the rage that bubbles in you in you Maz as, as a vengeance guardian at seeing your friends and allies, even though you've, you've not known all of them for very long, but seeing them all attacked when all you're trying to do is help someone. Um, I think it adds a little bit extra to your blow and in a single swipe, uh, the spellcaster is nearly dead. But you did roll with fear. However, I did. I did. I am going to spend two fear to get four action tokens. Actually, you know what? Ignore that. I'm gonna spend one and get two action tokens. And the, the spellcaster is going to, uh, geez, some of these are so, so odd. Uh, the spellcaster is going to take steps back because that was a lot of damage, a lot of damage and, um, is going to immediately. I'll mark a stress again. Okay. Okay. So for the first two, two evasion. Yes. Okay. Is immediately going to send a bolt of arcane energy back at you from their staff. See if I can continue rolling. Well, Nope. Uh, the, the bolt whizzes by you probably because the spellcaster is so injured that it's just affecting their ability to, to, uh, aim and you see, uh, after it misses the spellcaster kind of is very hurt, very, very weak, um, acting like acting like they can barely stand. Um, but having seen how much damage you do, um, this, this bandit turns around and she once again, uh, you know what? Let's make this interesting. Uh, the bandit dashes off into the trees and after a moment you look up to see her flying down at you again, again, going to use from above to, uh, to attack you having, uh, I mean, aiming for you because of how much damage you just did to their spellcaster and is going to miss landing, uh, on the ground right next to you nearly spraining their ankle and belly flop in the dirt. And, uh, it's just going to kind of stand up and you guys are going to make like a brief moment of eye contact and then the bandit will just shrug. You get the sense that the bandit is trying to communicate. Can't blame me for trying. Uh, and the other bandit on the other side of you is going to witness what just happened and realize it's not worth the effort to go after the fairy guardian and attempt to stab your real pretty sure going to miss again. What happened? You mentioned that a bit of a matrix. Fortunately she's short. So just a little bit of a backwards bend, you know, it seems that the damage you have done to all of these bandits is simply pretty much too much for them and they're all starting to, um, not, not attack with the care that they have been trained to attack with. And, uh, bandit misses your real and that is where I will hand the playback to the players. Ms. Boga want to do anything? Um, not, not really much, but can do now. Um, continuing watching was the, the, what can only be described as comedy at this point. Um, I mean, assassin falling from the tree. Not quite sure what, what, what he says some try to accomplish, but it's interesting to watch. I would say it's that Lana seen the mate or the spellcaster try to shoot at mass and the bandit jump out of the tree to try to attack mez. But Lana is enraged at this point. She was on the ground cause they had hit her with the curse and the light has spread out throughout her entire body. And she has a glow about her, which now extends into her hallowed acts as she wields it. And she whips it around and throws it, um, at this, at the mage. Um, okay. Attempting to, um, I guess, yeah, just attempting to slash it with the, the hallowed acts it's thrown obviously. Um, so is that just a duality dice attack roll? Yeah. Every attack rolls just duality for you. Now, mass just sorta tries to leap slightly to the side to avoid it. Obviously in line of fire. Um, that's a 17 with fear. Okay. Um, and she will spend a stress to also attack, um, for it to boomerang around and also attack this guy, um, right here. Okay. Um, as it's coming back to her. Um, and with the same attack roll. Okay. You said it was a 17 and you added plus two to that. Yeah, that was with the plus two. Okay. And that was with fear. You said, and do you know if you roll your damage separately? It doesn't actually say what the damage dice is. So I would assume it's the same as your, just your, you make it your hallowed acts attack and you just roll it for, if you roll once and they each take that damage or if you roll, I'll say maybe 10 plus one. Yeah. I would say let's just roll it once and they'll each take that damage. I don't really know what the right answer is. Um, that's an eight. So they both take eight. All right. So you kill both of them. Nice. If you'd like to tell us what that looks like while I, uh, remove them from play. As I kind of go to the right side of, or to the north side of mass and I throw the ax, it goes straight for the neck of the spellcaster, cleaving it off of his body, um, rotates and comes back to me. And as it does so, it slices into the chest of the other bandit who had tried to jump on top of mass and then flies into my hand and I am breathing heavily as I look at the ax and the blood dripping down it, thinking about how many lives I've taken today. Everything in one fell swoop to, uh, two companions, uh, immediately cut down the, the, the remaining bandit is going to look at all of you surrounded and just drop his knife, drop his dagger on the ground and kind of hold his hands up. He is going to attempt to, uh, he's going to say, wait, wait, wait, wait, I, I, I, uh, sorry. Uh, wait, I tried to warn you. Yeah. A little late for that now. His eyes get wide. I was disagreed with that action. I didn't even make a thumb. Could be funny for the people listening to the audio. Sure. I mean, it's up to you whether or not you want to accept surrender. I think Spatlana with the blood dripping off the ax would be like, I warned you that this was your fate. And I said that you could tell us where the boy was and avoid it. I'm giving you that chance again. The boy, why what's what's what about the boy is worth what you've done. You don't think that taking an innocent boy from his family is worth killing bandits over innocent. What did they tell you? They told me that the boy was taken from the forest for doing nothing but playing with his little sister, his elder sister. What have you to say in the defense of yourself? He thinks about that for a minute and says. I guess that is what they would say. What do you say? I say that I was given a task and I followed through just like you did. And now we both must bear the weight of what we have done. But what was your task? What did you want with the boy? They don't tell people like me things like that. Do you think that I would be out here in the woods if I had any kind of. Pull or sway or influence or power, do you think that I want to be here? So are you saying that you had nothing to do with the capturing of the boy and the taking of him to what wherever you took him to? I'm not saying that I had nothing to do with it, but I'm simply saying that. Some things. You're made to do and you do them and. They aren't always good and. He kind of looks at his. Looks at his. I don't know friends is the right word, but the people that he'd been out here with and. Says sometimes you. Live with the consequences, but. If they had told me. That it would come to this. I don't know that I would. I would be here. They simply. Needed a distraction. Mazz sort of steps over towards the side of the bandit and draws out a short sword and looks up towards Svetlana and just says, well, I'll just kill him. Then looks down at him waiting for a response. His hands are still up and he he looks at you and. He he he can't stop you. You I've told you. You regret your allegiance. To these men. And women. What would do? What would you do if you had nothing else? I would turn the core. It is what I did. I had nothing. And this is what core tells you to do to others. He kind of looks back at the the spellcaster and the other bandit again. How is this? How is this? How is this better than what I have done? I do what I do to save innocent lives. He he gestures with his arm back to this clearing in the cops of trees past the the dead. I guess it's called a hexer and says. See for yourself. What am I walking into? Nothing that the area where we were sitting. Would you like me to go first? And are you here to stop people from going to find the rest of your community? I am here. Does your purpose. I was told that I was here. To draw people here. They want us to come. He shrugs. He doesn't know. I mean, he says he doesn't know. I guess you could investigate that. But back to the boy, you said that you were involved. You know where they took him. You may not know what they want to do with him. He looks into the clearing in the cops of trees again. I think you're lying. See for yourself. Maz looks up towards Svetlana and says, you know, I would like to see him because he's gravely wounded at this point, right? Like, I mean, or not gravely, but he's significantly wounded. Pretty hurt. Yeah. Pretty dirty. As a you know, Svetlana, this man is already no threat to all of us and then glances up at the rest of the party, you know, letting them jump in and says, you know, I would say we can have him lead the way to the cops, cops, cops, copes of trees. If that's where the boy is and it kind of looks down to confirm, is that where the boy is? That's what I've told you. Can I tell if he's lying? You can certainly try. Be an instinct role. In with fear. You can't really get a can't really get a feel on what he is, what he is thinking. You do hear something. And you're not sure what coming from the. But I, you know, as I see Svetlana continue to sort of interrogate this guy, this bandit, I'll use a student observer and then try to share with her my own feelings about whether or not he's being truthful. OK, so you're going to also make an instinct role this time using your experience. God, darn it. So I would only get a 13 with fear. You you. He's going your eyes and you kind of get all up in his face. And the only thing that you can tell is that he's very hurt and he is not wanting to be hurt further. I say with I am up and have him walk into the cups of trees and we follow what you guys think. Well, while this is happening, but we just swam down every bit and go out the water behind. Easy enough. And she still overtakes her. She just started. She just wandered like past the group. The kind of soft flap on the ground with wet feet. And just to appear into the opening, I'm guessing is. That that. Yeah, let me see what you can. Let me see what you can see here. I mean, I can see a lot. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it's definitely. Can you not see everything? Can you see things incorrectly? Oh, God. I see. Well, me not like a ton, but I see a thing right here. Okay. Yeah. What do you see? I mean, okay. I can't tell what it is. All right. You can't tell from here what what you were seeing, but there is someone in the clearing. And you scared me when you said you could see a ton. I'm like, if you can see the whole map, I'm not. I just I just didn't know if I was supposed to see that thing. Okay. So Bo are you approaching the entrance? Yeah. Okay. Carefully. Or just just walking in. I can try to clamber over this body in the way. Okay. Easy enough to do. He's very inert. Very good. Good. That's dead. All right. So from there, Bo appearing in, it is easy enough to see in the clearing, there is a small campfire that's made and sitting around the campfire. Well, I guess around the campfire, there is a kind of side turned logs where people probably have been sitting and sitting on one of the logs is the boy. And when he sees this curious little ribbit peering in the waves, kind of shy back a bit. And then as all of your parties encroaching behind you slowly. Sorry. Just laughing at the positioning of everybody. Well, now you. Oh, I'm back. Okay. So you're, you're kind of taking like a step. We'll say like here, oop, I'd move the corpse. The corpse gets up and moves. Yeah. Oh no. I'm going to, I'm going to move the corpse out of the way so that doesn't happen again. Okay. So from there, you all can basically see the boy. And when he sees you all, he kind of cocks his head to the side and he's, he doesn't understand what he's seeing. But he, this time his wave is a little bit more like a little more cautious. What was all that noise he calls out? Is everyone okay? We hear the rescue you. He looks a little puzzled. Amara, your sister. Oh, is she okay? Yes. Good. Would you come back with us to the city? To the city. Why would I go to the city? Well, I guess to the outskirts. He shrugs and says, so I'm not supposed to stay with them anymore. Why would you, why would you want to stay with them? They're my friends. Friends how? He doesn't understand the question. He kind of just shrugs and looks back to the fire. Doesn't really understand friends. How? Don't you want to go home? Yeah, I like home, but I'm out here. I'm in the woods. Your sister, she said that you are taken by these men. Is that not true? Taken. I mean, I, I went with them because that was what I was supposed to do. But he gets up and you can see that he's not tied up or anything like that. I'm hearing this, um, but it covers her face, like covers her mouth and like a shock, shocked expression or like a, Oh no, what have we done? Kind of way. She looks around looking for like reassurance from the party. Like this, this isn't what we've done. The boy, uh, the boy kind of perks up a little bit and he goes, Oh, is this a part of it too? Are you guys pretending as well? Uh, mass puts just kind of like a hand on bogus shoulder and that sort of reassuring way. And it's like something is very, very wrong here. And, you know, looks around and you know, flaps her wings a little bit and takes a tries to take a higher look at everything around us. And, um, especially trying to see if there's anybody in the trees who may be jumping down at her at some point. That seems to be an ongoing problem. Uh, it is always you, isn't it? That's interesting. It's always me. When, when mass first turns around to look, the first thing has notices very clearly is that when you all turn to pay attention to the boy, the bandit that you were questioning, I tied him up. Did you? You're going to have him walk. She said, we should tie him up. And then she did say we should. And nobody did. He was, yeah, he was, he was still going to be able to walk too. So I was assuming that you weren't tying his legs. You said, I guess, yeah, I said it, but I didn't follow up on it. So it's totally fine. It's okay. If you, I mean, if you, if you want, if you meant that you were tying him up, that we can definitely play that. That was not my understanding, but that's okay. I don't want it. I'm not trying to override anything you guys did by any means. I probably meant that we should do it and that we didn't actually do it. No, I liked that though. I think it's cool because we actually, you totally said we should and then nobody's confirmed that we were going to do it. We should run with that. It was like, yeah, we should. And then my understanding was we should, and then Boga started approaching and then everybody got curious when the boys started talking, but yeah, no, no, I'm in on that. I like that. I think that's a good plan. Also, I was just curious to see what I would roll for him attempting to sneak away and I did roll a natural 20. So I figured that I had a pretty good chance. I mean, did you want to just like flex for us to like while you're, you know, I mean, I missed like seven rolls in a row at the end of that fight, so I had to get one eventually. Um, anyways, so, uh, you are flying up to try to perceive if there's anybody else around or get a. Yeah. And I mean, yeah, it's see if there's anybody else who is about to leap out of the kind of shadows. Um, can you make a, you know, that's, that's been a problem. Could you make an instinct roll for me? I would love to. Um, a. 22 with fear. Um, okay. Well. Maybe as I come up, I bumped my head on a tree making a bunch. So you fly up and your, your keen eyes. Um, I mean, it's hard to get too high because you're in a, you're in a pretty thick area of trees. It's not like, yeah, you know what? With the way the map is with the way the map is looking, you can get up pretty high so you can get kinda to almost above the tree line and what you can see since that's such a, that's almost a, the maximum role is you can see off to the west. There is another clearing, um, with maybe more people waiting. Maybe I see like a glint of some armor or something like that, right? Kind of shining off indicates there may be people there, but I'm not sure it could be a shiny rock. Like, right. You do, you do see something that makes you, makes you wonder if what will be awaiting you if you go that direction, as you are kind of looking that direction, something to your right catches your attention and you believe what you just barely caught the glimpse of was another bandit waiting in the trees. Um, but having seen you and having witnessed this, uh, it appears based on the Russell of the branches that it may have been moving away. They may have been moving away from you. Did I see any bears? No, no sign of bears. Is my toe okay? So far. So far. Throbbing. It's still, still throbbing. I don't know why. Uh, so yeah, that's, that's what you see. You do see concern to the west. I'll say that this Maza then glides further back down and just looks around and indicates to, um, her party or compatriots. And it says, you know, that I, I think I may see people far off to the west in a separate clearing, but, um, I believe that here we are, we are mostly alone. Very good to know Maza's thinking. So it was an ambush. Yes. As I flew up, I do think that now we are alone, but somebody may have been waiting for us. But with this young man, I wonder if he is unsure what's happening before him. That sounds correct. And I will say to the boy, Tommy, right? He nods. So you think this is all pretend. I, I, I was told that I was going to spend some time in the woods and I don't know. They gave, they gave my parents some gold for it. And they're very nice. And he kinda like looks to the side to see just the, just the, you know, barely a glimpse of the, the spellcaster on the ground. Did he go to sleep? These are not good men. How old is this boy? Oh, geez. I think I wrote this somewhere. Didn't I? I want to say like nine. Yeah. I think it was something like that. Yeah. He's nine. Yeah. Look at that. Good notes. Everybody. He is strong and he also works around the house in front of. Okay. Um, mass starts to, I'm sorry. Go ahead. I was wondering if, uh, his sister Amara knew that they were, uh, paid for, for the, for the boy to accompany these men in the cloaks. Yeah. He nods and says, yeah, Mara's a really good, really good pretender. We play lots of games. Was Amara asked to go get help? He shrugs. He doesn't, he doesn't know any, he doesn't know that, I guess. Mass kind of walks up, um, towards closer into the clearing and, um, I says, well, you know, um, we're going to keep playing our game and part of the game is making sure we can find our way back to Amara. Would you like to keep playing with the rest of us? Shouldn't I play with the people who brought me here? Well, you know, they were only the first part. I'll tell you that the next part is even more fun and there's more adventure to await us. Let's see if he believes you. Actually, why am I rolling? That feels like that should be a, uh, that feels like that should be a performance role. Sorry. A presence role, right? Presence. Um, I've got a 12 with hope. Okay. Take a hope. Um, his face kind of wrinkles up like he's, he's not really sure. And then, okay. He stands up kind of like brushes off his, uh, brushes off his, his pants a little bit. Um, Maz then start to walk towards the rest of the party. Um, you know, kind of like, um, sort of putting her hand sort of behind her, sort of indicating to the young, you know, lad to sort of come with. And, um, the lad is a distance away, sort of playing catch-up. And so as she gets closer to the party and just kind of says, you know, I think we should start by just getting him out of here and we can work our way back through the same pathway we came. There were people far off to the west, I think maybe. So we should try to avoid that area. Yes. Do you want to ride on my shoulders? She asked the little boy. He nods. Thinks he'd like that. She picks him up. She puts him on her shoulders and says, giddy up. She kind of makes it into a little game. Like he is riding on the cow. I mean, he is riding on the cow. Okay. Um, then, uh, like elbows a little bit towards like Boca is like, Boca, if he gets bored, can you do something for us? Like, like what? Anything, anything, any sort of little fun, any sort of illusion, say little kids like something new and surprising. He may not know what to expect. You can, you know. Okay. I shall see what I can do. Yes. Be ready because for now he's entertained, but we all know that the little children can change very quickly. If we remember last session where I think we might've heard a screaming child in the other room of this very, this very house. Yeah. So, uh, do you do anything to obscure the bodies that he's about to walk by? I was going to ask that also. I'm a little bit small to block them myself. I don't know if anybody wants to try to cover them. No, didn't even, I didn't even think of it. Honestly, you know what I would, I would say is, is just, you know, no, don't worry. These people are just resting. Okay. They were very sick. They were very tired. Just corn syrup and red dye. We were play fighting. I will think when I've taken another child through New York city and the question was, is that man sleeping? And the answer was yes. In the street on the sidewalk. Yep. Having a nap. Yeah. Doesn't necessarily fully believe you, but he's not really that concerned. As people start to move away, Ariel would like to, um, maybe look around the camp site and see if there's anything left behind that would be giving more information about what the hell is going on. Okay. Can you make a instinct role? We're doing a lot of instinct roles today. Sure. A lot of looking around at things. Well, that's a 16 with hope. Take a hope and, uh, you are going to find some food supplies, um, some things that look like for lack of a better word, I guess they look like they were, were there to keep the boy entertained. Um, you're going to find a crossbow with some bolts and, um, other than that, it's really just the campfire. And then also you can search the, the sleeping gentlemen and sleeping bandits, if you would like. Uh, but yeah, that is, it's basically just fine. Find some, uh, little, little trinkets and toys to kinda like, you know, a ball and things like that for the boy. So it looks like they were set up here for a stay to hang out and keep everybody fed and entertained. Why? Why? I know. I wish I could understand, but honestly, we may never understand. I think you just need to get this boy out of here. Um, I, I have a style mending touch that I can lay my hands on a creature and channel healing magic to close their wounds. Um, it doesn't say that that is prolonged rest, but it's in like the box with another thing. And then it says once prolonged rest, when you spend this time, you can heal two hip points or two stress. So can I do many touch at any time or is it only once prolonged rest? I think you can do the two once prolonged rest, everything else. I can do it anytime. Yeah. So you're spending hope. So you just have to, yeah. Yeah. Um, I would, um, lay my hand on the back of mass and be like, Hey girl, I would say how are you doing? I would say you did a really good job back there. Thank you so much for coming in when I really needed you. Um, and you would see light leaving the ends of my fingertips and going into her shoulder and kind of spreading across her wounds, um, and closing some of the more serious ones. Um, so you'll get one HP back. I said the mass, uh, feeling, you know, the healing sort of, you know, happened and, and, uh, the warmth that it brings, but the warmth is even made, you know, greater by both the, uh, gesture of friendship for this person that she's just getting to know. And the, uh, newfound respect that she has for somebody who can both be a person of, uh, their God, but also one who, um, it does not hesitate to protect the innocent and then turns and, um, looks, um, Serlana, you know, in the eye and just gives a, a very simple, you know, thank you. Thank you for everything that you've done. No need to thank me. It is my duty. That sort of things to herself, you know, as a person without a God, that it is great to see somebody who, um, still find who was able to find their way and such a different path than her own and holds a, you know, a high regard and tremendous respect for that. And then, uh, continues to sort of walk, um, along with Svetlana and then, you know, looks up at the boy on her shoulders. And so mass flaps her wings a bit to raise up to the giant height through which this boy must be. Cause it's gotta be what, seven, eight feet in the air, whatever seven ish, be on Svetlana shoulders and is like, how's the air up here? He laughs. You know, then a mass kind of gives them, you know, like a sort of like, you know, um, just a pat on the shoulder, you know, friendly, you know, and, and, you know, re attempting to be reassuring, but not, not moving, you know, especially close for a, you know, a young boy that she is only just Matt. Sure. And you guys are heading out the same way. You don't have to move your tokens all the way back out if you're just going that way. Okay. Yes. Um, I was going to say I would probably talk with the rest of everybody and maybe I would set him down to talk more secretly, I guess, but, um, ask, should we take this boy back to his parents? They sold him to, to these people. I feel like we should alert some authority. I didn't take that as selling the boy, but, but rather like, you know, payment for, for a job, like what the boy is playing a role. Maybe we should talk to the parents. More of a leasing situation. Exactly. For three years. Little boys are not to be leased. Maybe trade it in for a better model. What? Little boys are not to be leased. I know he works around the farm. I myself worked on a farm for many years. That is different. A little boy should not be involved with bandits. It just seems like negligence to me that his parents would allow him to be involved in something that could be this dangerous. In their defense, I'm not sure it was dangerous until we got here. I think I would want to get a better story from an adult is my perspective. Yes. And I agree with that. I just, um, I don't want to be hasty and return him home to some place that may be dangerous for him. But as long as we investigate and make sure he's going to a safe place, then I totally agree. I guess my question is, do we go backwards with the boy, try to find his parents, or do we go forward and try to figure out what these people are doing out here gathering in dark cloaks in the summertime in the forest? They want us to come. You don't do that for fun. He said that they want us to come. That makes me not want to go. Julia, that does not make you curious. It makes me curious, but curiosity killed the cat. It did? I don't know if there's anywhere we could, anyway, we could investigate both, right? Couldn't we bring investigate further and try to find out why the jagged knife are out in the woods and what they were doing with the boy while also protecting him? Or do we need to return the boy first? And I agree that the boy should not be returned directly to his parents, but we also don't know. The parents may have been sold on something that was not true. Right. We don't know what the parents were told in exchange for their gold. So if we think we can protect the boy and find out more what the jagged knife were doing in these woods, I think that the people of Skyland and especially the children and the families who may have been preyed upon would be better off because of it. So I think it is a worthy thing to consider. That's a good point. Do we not have time to go back and take the boy back and then come return to this place? I just, I hesitate to take him further into the woods, not knowing what we may encounter. Yeah, that's fair. Do we know where the boy lives? Where his family is? Um, I mean, it's, you got a, you got a vague idea from Amara. It's essentially, um, unfortunately, this map doesn't really accommodate the, uh, it's not a perfect map. It wasn't designed for what I was thinking about it, but essentially they, they would use these woods as passage to the, uh, as passage to Skyland to like do trade and stuff like that. So what I would think about it is just for the sake of the way this, the, the map that we're using is situated. Um, if you, if you exit the forest, um, you should be able to kind of see like a little small farming community as well. Like you may have seen it on your way and you may not have. Um, and that's where you suspect that the boy is from. So back out the way we came. Yeah. Again, it doesn't really work with the map. Like theoretically, theoretically you would go to the South to exit, but there's no exit drawn on the map to the South. So, so we would have to go further into the woods to get to the, No, that's what I'm saying. Just don't, don't think about, don't think about this map that we're looking at any more. You need to leave the woods in order to leave. We need to leave. Okay. I feel that we should prioritize the safety of the boy, that the boy's safety comes first and foremost, because he's the one in front of us. Then I think that it is worthwhile to protect the other children and families that may or may not have been preyed upon by the same bandits. I'm not sure how everyone else feels for this one. I for one am in complete agreement. Wait from the out of there, the bears please. All right, out of the woods we go. Right. That snort, that snort didn't come through. Are we out of the woods music? Yeah. So as you start to get closer to the exit, or it sounds weird. It sounds like there's a door to exit the woods. As you start to, I would like a sign. As you this way, as you start to leave the woods, you start to notice things don't smell right like the trees were kind of shielding you from a lot of a lot of this. And as you fully step out of the woods, you you notice looking up to because you step out and Skyland is there and you notice a big plume of smoke billowing from Skyland. I think that's probably a pretty good place to stop. You guys want to keep going? I don't know. It's a good cliffhanger. I'm so confused, but okay. Continue. Continue by not continuing? No, no, you're good. So you step out of the woods and smoke. Something has happened to Skyland. On the island itself? On the island itself. It's still floating though, right? It is still floating. Oh my God. I'm like, how bad off are we right now? Well, that's how it becomes groundland, right? The groundlands. How do you think they got shattered in the first place? We took away their dreams and aspirations. Oh, too real, Rehan. Too real, too real, too real, buddy. There's lots of them having the last few weeks, man. And it's just like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is an escape, my friend. My bad. Oopsers. Whole party adds stress. I still think of myself as a history teacher regardless. And I gotta say, it's been a rough month. Jinkies. Yeah. Well, do we think that we're safe enough to take a rest? Like a long rest. I don't know. I'm just guessing. I'm very worn out from that battle. You can look around. How far, can I ask the boy how far it is to his home? Kind of shrugs and says, not that far. Do we think we could return the boy and then make camp nearby? I don't know if I feel safe near the boy's house since they know where he lives. They know. I don't know. I just, I don't want to be found. Sure. Presumably they know where the boy was with all the people we murdered also. I would say that at the clearing of the woods, if you would like to find a place to camp, probably be recommended that you take turns, take shifts watching, but assuming everything goes well, we should be able to get a long rest. By clearing in the woods, do you mean earlier? No, no, no. Sorry. The exit from the woods. The exit of the woods. Okay. So we're just like thinking we're, we're working our way towards the outside of the woods right now, regardless of the map, right? Right. Yeah. Okay. Hmm. Who's got first shift in? Do you guys want to keep going then? Or did you want to stop with the, seems like everybody wants to keep going. So I will, if you want to keep going, I will take a break quickly. I was going to say, what if we do our rest actions now and wrap up and we're ready to go next? Yeah. Okay. That'll work. Yeah. That's a good idea. But do you want to share what they would like to do for their long rest? Anything that's reset by a short rest is also reset by a long rest. I believe that is correct. Yeah. Is there a spot where I can find all the long rest stuff in like an easy location on Demi plane? Yeah. Search for long rest. Oh. Down time. Yeah. At the top, I clicked on downtime and it was. Search the rules for the term. Down time near the top right of your character sheet. Oh yeah. Sorry. I was, I have a separate tab open with the rules that. Understandable. But you need a lot more. Information available at all times. If Boga needs a break, maybe Boga is on watch for the first shift while everybody else is taking their actions. Sure. Works for me. Sure. Sorry. Say it again, Yurio. Boga said they needed a quick break. Yes. Was that just if we are keeping going, Aris? Or did you? They can be on. They can be on watch if they need to slip away. Yeah. If we keep on going. Well, yeah. If we keep on going, I'd go and take a break. I'd say we're only going to go five, five more minutes or so. But if you need a break, that is absolutely okay. All right. Nah, we're good. I don't think first watch though. Okay. Maswell sort of volunteer and looks over towards Boga and still somewhat curious that Boga has abilities, especially after the combat in which, you know, Boga sort of hung back, right? Sort of watching and, you know, Mas being more naturally cautious, having seen lots of things and unsure of exactly what Boga could or would do when, you know, necessary sources, you know, in a in a positive way, not suspicious of Boga, but wanting to know more will take the volunteer to take the first watch with Boga. Boga looks at Mas, one eye blinking after the other slowly. It's like a kind of unnerving way, I suppose. What's funny? Before she sleeps, Svetlana would take some time to tend to her wounds. She would put a salve, salve? I think it's salve. Okay. I think I might be wrong. Healing salve? Yeah. I don't know. Salve just feels really heavy. Healing salve is not the same thing. No, no, it is not. Yes. And each place that she touches the salve too would have a brief glow before it dissipates and heals. And then she would spend the rest of the time before she sleeps repairing her armor in any spots that were broken or torn during the last combat. Okay. Sounds good to me. Aylo, Uriel, what would you like to do? Aylo will spend his time working on repairing his leather armor and his own hide, so to speak. Yeah. Okay, Uriel is hanging out with Pazu, relaxing again. It clears. What's a D4 got to, so that cleared the stress. And then, since we're stopped for a bit, Uriel would pull some potatoes out of her pack and do a quick fry up of some potatoes and any other root vegetables, maybe onions or something that we could find nearby. So that we will be fed and prepared when we carry on. So if anybody would like to partake of potatoes with me, I'm in. That's hope for both of us. Otherwise, it's full. I cannot because I already did two actions. I'll let you eat potatoes as a free action. That's okay. A free potato action. I get two hopes from that. When I say that free potato action might be on my next tattoo, I'm just saying. Like right now, I would do it. I already had the idea that I should have a bear that just says, "Don't wake a sleeping bear," or something to that effect. I would get that. As a bear, would it be great? Perfect. Amazing. Since it's the end of the session, can I use my five points of paradise to just add those back to my hope? It's one of the things I can do with paradise is I can use the value to exchange that value for that many hope to any PC. Yeah, that's fun. That's fine. That's kind of an interesting one. We might have to ask them about that because then theoretically, you can spend hope to get your paradise back and then spend your paradise to get your hope back and then spent. You can just do that forever. Yeah, because I only spent two hope to reroll the paradise and I got a three. Yeah, that's interesting. That's might be a, I don't know. We'll have to think about that some more, but yeah, it is what it is. It might be a question for the Mercer. Yeah. The mercenary. Yeah. Right. Mas Boga, your watch goes without incident. It's you get the feeling that you have slaughtered a good amount of danger in this area. Did Hilo say what they were doing or what he was doing? Okay. Yeah, he was patching up. Oh yeah. And then who would like to take next one? Um, I can. Okay. Anybody taking one time is it? What time of day is it? It is, you guys are taking an early night. So it is, it is evening and you are, I don't know how long it says you got to relax for a few hours. That's desk ish. Yeah. Dusk ish. I would possibly, and I would be happy to take this watch because I have a carpuscular experience, which means I'm more, more active and keen at dawn and dusk. Okay. All right. You can take that with a, with Svetlana then. And then Mas and Boga can do any of their long rest actions that they need to do. Well, it's just gonna like curl up in a cloak. I kind of make a little mess for self and just sleep. Love it. I love that. Uh, then, uh, Mas glancing over at Boga to sort of unwinding in their own ways per perplexed for a moment that, and, and then interested in sort of both excited because, uh, you know, everybody's just so different in how they, you know, um, um, unwind and she begins to sort of, uh, sort of jump and hop on, you know, uh, little, little sticks that are in the clearing, um, little stones, and then uses that as a way to sort of both, you know, hop and breathe and sort of sync up her, her body with, um, her body in mind with the, with those actions in order to, uh, clear, uh, all her stress, um, and unwind and to feel her sort of abilities kind of come back together. And then after hopping around, um, and she sort of flaps her wings to rise slightly up in the air before settling, you know, back down and, uh, taking, um, a little, um, a little like, uh, a sort of, uh, cloak, uh, sort of looks like a cloak, maybe like a blanket and, and rolling it up into a, uh, pillow, uh, sort of shape that is obviously, uh, well-worn has seen a lot of action and, uh, use placing it behind her head with an ease that indicates that this is not something that she's only done once or twice before, but, um, many times to heal, um, her, um, HP and tend to all her, uh, wounds and, um, you know, then goes on to, uh, to rest. Sounds good. So your two actions were heal HP and clear stress. Is that correct? Yes. Okay. All right. Well, as, uh, evening turns tonight, um, nothing really happens other than a peaceful recovery from the experiences of the day you, you know, uh, Tommy is kind of happily just hanging out with you. I'm not sure what's going on and you prepare for what's next as Skyland burns. Oh my God. It'll still be burning when we get back. That's fine. And that is probably the place where we stop. Nice. Michael, that was great. Yeah. That was great.
